I’ve been interested in photography since I was about 6 or 7, and my older brother Bill let me walk around the block with his Canon AE-1.  I was in the Camera Club in Grade 9, shot 35mm through the 80s, and bought my first ‘point and shoot’ digital in 1997.  After 15 years in the field of Medical Research, I succumbed to my mid-life crisis and returned to Fanshawe College for the Photography program – I now work and teach in that same program.

The wet plate process has drawn me in, and has me in its grip.  The combination of mad scientist and photography appeals to me, as does the fact that each plate created is a truly unique image that can never be repeated.
